Kole Mathison, a junior at Carmel High in Indiana, finished fifth at the Eastbay Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego. Mathison covered the 5-kilometer course in 15:22.3, contributing to five scorers in the top 15 overall, as the All-Americans led the Midwest lineup to a 32-49 victory over the Northeast.
